Gilbert Arenas to workout for Memphis Grizzlies
According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, free agent point guard Gilbert Arenas will workout for the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, who are looking for a backup point guard.
Said the report:
“I think Gilbert would be a good fit from the perspective that he can play both guard positions,” [Grizzlies coach] Hollins said. “He’s been a very talented offensive player his entire career. He’s a guy that played the passing lanes and got steals..I just thought that if that was a possibility to add another talented guy who could play backup point guard and backup 2 as well, why not take a look?”
Arenas last played with the Orlando Magic last season, where he played in 49 games and averaged 8 points per game.
Arenas has averaged 21.2 points per game over the course of his career and was a source of numerous off-the-court distractions during his time with the Washington Wizards.
Should the Grizzlies sign Arenas, or does he have too much baggage? Fire off in the comments below.
